Leon H. Scherck Award. This award, established in 1922, is given in memory of an 1894 alumnus of the School of Engineering. The criterion for this award is excellence in scholarship in Engineering. It is usually awarded to the valedictorian. James Marshall Robert Award. Presented to a senior in engineering based upon scholarship, leadership, and collegiate activities. Usually a member of the engineering student council, or a professional society or honor society officer. The award winner is selected by the School of Engineering Honors Committee and the award is conferred by the Dean of Engineering at the Annual Awards Banquet sponsored by the Society of Tulane Engineers. Daniel H. Vliet Award. Presented to a sophomore who exhibited superior performance in freshman physics. The winner is selected by the Department of Physics and the award is conferred by the Chair of the Department of Physics at the Annual Awards Banquet sponsored by the Society of Tulane Engineers.
