STUDENT INFORMATION FOR SSE DIPLOMA CEREMONY
Arrive at the New Orleans Arena no later than 3:00 pm. If you are attending the event at Mulate’s, the last bus will leave Mulate’s at 2:30 pm.
If you enter the Arena at NW ground:
Enter NW ground and proceed up the stairwell. At the top of this stairwell, turn left and walk until you reach Section 107; take the small stairwell on you left to the Suite Level.
If you enter at NE ground:
Enter NE Ground and proceed up the stairwell. At the top of this stairwell, turn left and walk until you reach Section 107; take the small stairwell on your left to the Suite Level.
Once you reach Suite Level, follow signs to SSE check in. We will be using the hallway in front of Suites 216 to 243. Bachelor degree students will be in alphabetical order by Program, beginning with Biological Chemistry. They will be followed by Master Degree students, and ending with Ph. D. students to be hooded. Check in at your department/program table where you will be given a card designating your space in line. Students will be lined up alphabetically by department/program. Students must be checked in by 3:30 pm in order to participate in the ceremony.
Please take everything with you and do not leave anything behind in the Suite area.
PARENT INFORMATION
Upon entering the Arena, parents should proceed to the 100 level audience seating. Be aware that another ceremony precedes ours and might still be in progress but that it is okay to enter the Arena and find a temporary seat.
FACULTY INFORMATION
Please report to Harrah's Club Room in the Arena by 3:00 pm. Harrah's Club Room is located near the South Suite Hall entrance on the Eastern side of the Arena. Faculty can pick up two tickets to Commencement, along with a parking pass, in 215 Gibson Hall.
HANDICAP INFORMATION
Enter at the East entrance and take the elevator to the handicap section. There will be a person in the elevator to assist you.
PARKING
The Superdome parking facilities provide streamlined access to the Arena. There are 5,000 spaces available in the parking garage. Cost is $8.00 to park. Be aware that the four main garages in the Superdome are color-coded: blue, green, orange and yellow.
MULATE'S CAJUN RESTAURANT
The School of Science and Engineering has rented Mulate's Cajun Restaurant, across the street from the Convention Center, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm for Science and Engineering students and their families. There will be continual bus transportation available to, and from, Mulate's after the Unified Ceremony. We will have food, music and the best party atmosphere in town! Sold out! No more tickets available.
Bus Location for Mulate's (click on for map): We have rented four STARCOACH buses. As you exit the NE section of the Arena, the buses will be across LaSalle Street in parking lot #3. We are the only group to be using the STARCOACH bus transportation. Do not confuse these with the New Orleans Tour buses being used by other Tulane graduates.
