A leader in the field of biochemistry, Dr. Voet has taught at Swarthmore College for 26 years. As a professor, writer and editor, she is committed to the learning process, education and incorporating effective pedagogical methods in college classrooms and labs. She co-wrote the texts Biochemistry and Fundamentals of Biochemistry, and served as co-editor-in-chief of the journal Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Education.
Named for Newcomb College alumna and physics professor Dorothy K. Daspit, the lecture series brings accomplished female science scholars to campus. Daspit’s family established the series to honor her distinguished Newcomb College career from 1937 to 1973.
